dos meses después de hacer el vídeo-invitación, y después de un tempranero & gracioso vuelo MAD-ALC, por fin llegaba el día de la esperada fiesta del 30 cumpleaños de mi querido y mejor amigo nathaniel.

two months after doing the video-invitation, and after a funny & early flight MAD-ALC, the day of the 30th birthday of my beloved and best friend nathaniel arrived.

todo lo que hace este ser acaba siendo tan especial como él mismo. esta vez no iba

a ser menos. un par de arreglos de última hora y el perfecto escenario para representar una fiesta cinematográfica al más puro estilo cannes, estaba listo. la alfombra roja, el fotocall, el refinado catering, las tenues luces entre la oscuridad, las proyecciones...

en fin, todo. pocas veces [o quizás nunca] he asistido a un cumpleaños con un tinglado parecido.

everything this man does always turns out to be as special as he is. this time it wasn.t gonna be any different. a couple of last minute fixes and the perfect set to play a cinematographic party as glamorous as those onces they hold in cannes every year, was all ready. the red carpet, the photocall, the refined catering, the low lights in the darkness, the projections...

well, everything. i.ve very few times [or maybe never] attended to such a produced birthday party.

y para terminar, la frase de la noche, por supuesto pronunciada por el anfitrión:

"la felicidad solo es real cuando la compartes", cierto! y si la compartes con personas especiales, no solo es real, sino que además se multiplica.

meeting up again with the past is something that i.ve never appreciated, but every rule has an exception.

life always takes your steps where it desires, with a extrange breeze that drifts you down unknown waters. new faces come and get drawn upon the history pages of your days all the time, but while some barely occupy a short chapter, others stay perpetually between the lines of the whole story.

so many years ago that it seems imposible, i met a couple of people who made my family grow and made the fear of living abroad disappear. two complete extrangers who rapidly became exactly the opposite, two friends who crossed the barriers o friendship, two names that i will forever keep deep in my heart.

letting somebody mark your life forever is something amazing, but feeling how you also mark somebody else.s life, is even more so.

just a little more than a week of tourism, confessions, hugs and wet guffawing

doesn.t seem enough, but it has no doubt been awesome and absolutely unforgettable.

reencontrarme con el pasado no es algo que me haga ilusión, pero toda norma tiene una excepción.

la vida va llevando tus pasos donde quiere. con esa extraña brisa que te mueve a la deriva, van apareciendo caras que quedan plasmadas en las hojas de la historia de tus años. y mientras unas ocupan solo un corto capítulo, otras permanecen siempre entre líneas a lo largo de todo el relato.

hace tantos años que parece imposible, pero en aquel entonces conocí a un par de personas que hicieron que mi familia creciera y el miedo a vivir solo en un país lejano desapareciera. dos desconocidos que se convirtieron rápidamente en todo lo contrario, dos amigos que cruzaron la barrera de la amistad, dos nombres que siempre tendré en el corazón.

permitir que alguien marque tu vida para siempre es algo genial, pero sentir que tú también marcas la de otro, casi lo es aún más.

algo más de una semana de turismo, confesiones, abrazos y húmedas carcajadas no parecen haber sido suficiente, pero sin duda ha sido genial y absolutamente inolvidable.
