tan solo unos minutos antes.
///
time passes too quickly when you feel good or even happy. at the end, it always feels as if everything had started just a few minutes earlier.
/
today, suddenly, i was taking again the same planes and traveling the same distances i did two weeks ago, only in the opposite direction and with contrary feelings. these four giant suitcases we.re carring full of gifts make me feel like going back, but returning again to the same place, to the same story, is not very tempting. traveling has always been one of the things that fill me and i like the most, leaving your house behind to see (sometimes) new and (always) different things is great every time, but when afterwards you go back and it.s all the same, all stagnant, when you see everything remained without change, is hard to feel much enthusiasm.
/
i hate separating from these people who i love so much, from these three characters who have always deeply marked my life, my memories. choices or maybe fate, have taken us to live separated by thousands of miles... i always have to cross an ocean or even a whole continent to see their faces, to hug them. but despite of all that distance, every time i meet them again, i feel as if we had been no time separated, and now that i write this, i realize it.s true, we actually don.t ever separate, cause our hearts are so close and so united that there.s no distance between them.
/
the last kiss always makes you feel a choking vertigo and be impatient for the next one, which always arrives at least a couple of months later.
it.s been awesome being with you guys -and that includes you lissa!
(the latest adoption of the cantos family).
i only wish we could had stayed longer...
is so sad to leave, but passing through the security check with my best friend, with the person who always makes me laugh the most,
helps a lot.
/
after tasting the best burgers we had ever eaten (5 GUYS.s), and after being too close to lose the first of our flights as two idiots who sit and chat quietly right in front of the gate, we started to walk our steps back.
/
the flight has been so fast that it seems imposible to have lasted that many hours, and all we.ve done is laugh and laugh as we ate the best inflight meal you could ever desire (of course not included in US AIRWAYS service) and bought half an hour before boarding, at ASIAN CHAO in philadelphia.s airport: orange chicken! hmmm!
thanks for these amazing two weeks with you and for this last flight full of laughter, i love you brother!

the "OH MY GOD: SHOES" day

i.ve always been lucky enough to be surrounded by people who have made me
laugh so much. the list is long and overfilled with names of very special people. juancho + eva, these two cousins of mine who are more like my brothers and whom i close to never find near by, have always been on the top of that great list. today we went uptown 'to get some shoes' with eva (also known as eyelash n' a half).
she.s got the most random sence of humor,
and i absolutely love that.
///
mmm

(just one of those random - disturbingly weird - imposible to avoid
repeating over and over again - extremely funny things

-you remind me of andy warhol

-yeah
-why?
-cause he was always recording stuff that
nothing really mattered what it was
-jajaja
-it mattered because it was human,
and it.s worth watching, just like a zoo,
to watch animals
///
-me recuerdas a andy warhol
-a si!
-si
-por qué?
-porque siempre estaba grabando cosas que
no importaban nada realmente
-jajaja
-importaba porque era humano,
y merecía la pena verlo,
como un zoo, solo para ver animales

shopping at manhattan (NYC day 2)

///
after waking up very early with some difficulty, watched the breaking news on new york channel and more than anything, once gotten ourselves filled with energy having a new yorker-style breakfast based on dunkin' donuts and hot chocolate (i.ll have a white hot chocolate, thanks), we began a nicely cold day which, acording to our planning, was the shopping day.
there were only a few hours and lots of streets to walk, so we tried walking our fastest up and down soho and the 5th avenue. despite how impressive many of these stores are, what made my mouth open the most was how cheap everything was... after changing the currency back to euros,
of course.
so, by noon we had to make a quick stop at the hotel to drop some bags...
but it.s not about burning the card ruthlessly, it.s about getting all those things that are always so expensive in europe, all that stuff you always feel a well known chill when you pay for.
when the stores closed their doors, we had to make another stop at the room and after that, as our new and nice rutine commands, we went up to broadway. we wanted to watch a movie tonight.
the four delicious slides of pizza from famous famiglia and the huge drinks snuck under our coats unnoticed into the theater, and there we were, enjoying one of the best film beginnings i.ve seen lately. it.s a shame that the rest of the movie wasn.t quite what i expected.

BROADWAY + TIMES SQ! (NYC day 1)

///
arriving to the capital of the world and appearing without warning in the middle of broadway, is more than very shocking. exit the bus station looking upwards, holding the camera up by our faces while grinning from ear to ear, was inevitable for both of us. i felt like tarzan in that adaptation of the story where he was taken to new york... i.ve already seen this place before, and i.m used to technology, to lights and to very tall buildings, but i don.t think there.s anyone in the whole world who wouldn.t feel impressed by all this light and this huge amount of visual stimulation, so there.s no way i could be unimpressed.

under this many skyscrapers, night seems to arrive sooner, and when darkness comes, is when the square of all times (times square) gets to be the myth that it is. i don.t know how many hours we stayed there, sitting and simply staring at all that surrounded us, but i could had stayed much longer. this must be one of the very few places in the states where you can find people 24 hours a day... i guess all those people arround me, also felt they didn.t want to leave and stop feeling the magic and strength you feel in that place.
i love sharing this moment with carlos, i would love being able to also share it with someone who.s absolutely far away.

man, i love this place\\

M!LK

one of the best things about america are its grocery stores... there.s so many great things that never get to europe!!! when i lived here i got used very easily to having these long aisles crammed with anything you could ever dream to fill your guts, so back home, there.s a bunch of flavors i always miss very much... but from all the yummy stuff you can miss, the one thing that i.d love to be able to have every day is a good glass of this milk! hmmmmmmm! how can it be so good!?

freak out

-'no puedo entenderlo'
(dicen)

-buu!

/ENGLISH!

can you see it? that look,
the look that many people give me when they see me.
i think they.re afraid of me.
-'i can.t undertand'
(they say)

i have no monthly salary or any kind of $ amount that will for sure come right into my bank account after every month. there.s only one sure thing, and that.s me feeling uncertainty.
the funniest part of my job is that no matter how well you do it, or how important what you achieve might be, after the day, when you say bye and the lights go down, you go back to the same condition you were before: unemployment. but this is an unemployment without free time or dole. an unemployment that absorves all your energy and spends it on doing fittings & trials and in selling your talent overexposing it as much as posible.

most people wake up every morning, breakfast and go to work. some days they got to run and get to the subway sweating, other days they can walk in calm and push, feeling a little bit more fresh, to be able to get into the crowded wagon.
the next day, they wake up again at the same time, breakfast, walk that same distance and sit down on the same chair as the day before... that same chair who everyday watches how they do the same over - and - over - again.
at the age of fourty most people have a steady job which they have had for at least half a decade and they carry out as if they were some kind of machine. a job that offers no posible expectancy of change and on top of that, stopped satisfying long ago.

-'hmmm, stability...  how fortunate i am!'
(that.s what they think every month when they see their salary)

there are two things that occupy my professional life. none of them will ever let me say those words. i.ll never be lucky enough to have a repetitive and automaton list of tasks that will turn into a paycheck at the end of the month.
i.ll never go to bed without being afraid of how i.ll make it through this month or the next, and i will never be able to stop thinking in new projects, because basically -for me- every new paycheck that i want, means a new project.

-'hmmm, overcoming!'
(that.s what i think)

i just feel life makes much more sense when not thinking it
as an eternal and slow loop :
m-o-n-d-a-y---t-u-e-s-d-a-y---w-e-d-n-e-s-d-a-y---t-h-u-r-s-d-a-y---f-r-i
DAY!>SATURDAY&>SUNDAY>-m-o-n...

it drives me nuts listening how people complain all through the week and how they beam with exaltation when they see the sun coming out every friday.

i love not having weekends, and knowing any day could be the important day of the week, the big day of the month. the day when i take the final step forward, the day i get a little closer to the goal.

i.ve many times thought about what i.d turn into if i lived in one of those loops. and that really does scare me. i see myself sitting on a sofa, with the 'project fridge' empty and all covered with tiredness because of hard working on somebody else.s dream, and i want to scream.

every once in a while i get the same compassionate question:
-'wouldn.t you like something a little more stable?'
-'no, i don.t...'
(i love seeing their reaction)
,: 0

now that the other day they gave me a little mirror at the openning of a new H&M store at madrid, i have the solution, -before- i had to turn around and look for a place where to reflect myself so to make sure i didn.t have anything on my face...

-buu!
